Nigerian artistes have their way of watering our mouths in anticipation for a song they are currently working on. Only for them to release it and the song turned out to be a total nonsense.
This 2018, there are some songs that came with lots of hype but when released, no one seem to catch the vibe.
Below are songs we thought will be a hit in 2018 but came out as trash:-
1. Wizkid Ft. Slimcase – Gucci Snake
After so much hype about Wizkid and Slimcasecollaboration, we all expected a big banger. They even made fans wait like forever for them to release the song “Gucci Snake“.
Only for the song to drop and the Chief Executive hyper of the song, “Slimcase” was almost no where to be found. A big disappointment for the street.
2. Idowest Ft. Davido – Ji Masun
The noise about Idowest signing to DMW birth the song “Ji Masun“. In a bid to push his new artiste further, Davido jumped on the song alongside Idowest.
Being the first song of an artiste who is already loved on the street before getting signed to one of the biggest label in the country, everyone expected that the song will be a mad jam but turned out to be the whackest of all Idowest songs.
3. Small Doctor – Remember
Small Doctor was quoted to have said he will be releasing another biggest song in the industry prior to the droping “Remember“.
However, it’s always going to be a big turn-off when an artiste who’s got “Penalty“, the only Nigerian song with longest shelf-life on top of the radar dropped a cover for all nursery school rhymes.
4. Davido Ft. Duncan Mighty – Aza
It’s not surprising that this song came with a whole lots of hype. This is because Davido, the master hyper is on it.
Therefore, the drama about Duncan Mightyprostrating for Davido just for his appearance on the song and the strategy of asking fans to send their “Aza” (account details) are some of the desperate ways they over-hyped the song before eventual release.
Upon all the hype, when the song was finally released, there was nothing so special.
5. Lil Kesh Ft. Olamide – Logo Benz
For this song “Logo Benz“, there was actually not much hype before its release and we guess the reason is because the two artistes on the song knew they were about to release a trashy song that will be offensive to many.
At the site of the title of the song, you’d think another pleasant street slang is about to be unveiled going by the records of Olamide and Lil Keshcollaboration.
After all, it turned out to be a song vast majority of sensible individuals will download and trash instantly.
