Gunmen attack in the early hours of Monday, has left 10 people dead in Mgbuosimi in Obio/Apkor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Confirming the incident, the State’s Police Command PRO, Nnamdi Omoni, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Port Harcourt that the cause of the mayhem was yet unknown.
“Ten people are feared dead in the violence and nobody knows the cause of the violence for now,” he said.
He further said that investigation concerning the brutality had started, yet no capture had been made and spoke to the general public to outfit the police with unique information that could help in arresting the suspects.
According to Mr. Omoni, the gunmen demanded for the telephone handsets from their victims, adding that those who hesitated in releasing their handsets were shot.
Mr. Omoni stated: “culprits must be punished regardless to what extent it might take to arrest them,” he said.
