Championship new boys, Stoke City, have signed Nigerian midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo from Portuguese outfit, Feirense on a 5 year contract for a fee of 7.2m euros.
Etebo spent the later end of the 2017/2018 season on loan at Las Palmas were he excelled and once managed to get into Who scored Team of the Week.
Although injury blighted his ascension and prevented him from rescuing the Spanish side from relegation, he has done enough for Stoke City to notice.
Etebo who is 22 years old is part of the Nigerian National team going to the world Cup and has shown promise since his teens.
During his days in the Nigerian Professional League, he played for Warri wolves and on 7 January 2016, he won the Most Promising Talent of the Year award at the CAF Awards.
He also scored the fastest hat-trick in the league in a 3-1 win against Wikki Tourists, scoring all 3 goals within 22 minutes of play.
In 2015 Etebo received the Glo Wondergoal award, for the best goal of the 2014-2015 NPFL season, which was scored against Bayelsa United in Benin.
Stoke City got relegated after 10 consecutive years in the top flight of English football and are expecting a mass exodus of their star players, they would be aiming for a quick return to the premier league and have started rebuilding.
