The Lekki-Epe expressway has been shut down, following an ongoing pandemonium sparked by police brutality in the area.
It was gathered that some police officers who chased Danfo driver to VGC from Ajah, assaulted him mercillessly upon catching up with him. The policemen went further to puncture his bus’ tyres and seize its battery.
However the driver who held on to their van when they tried leaving, was dragged till they got to Okota where they pushed him away. The police brutality witnessed by residents of the area, made some area boys barricade the road in protest, causing a gridlock along Lekki-Epe expressway.
On June 8 also, three police officers, an inspector and two sergeants, exhibited the condemnable brutality for which the police and virtually all security agencies in the country have become notorious.
