Dancing Senator: Senator Ademola Adeleke Wins PDP Ticket For Osun State Governorship Elections


 

Senator Ademola Adeleke, famously known as the dancing senator representing Osun West district has won the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the Osun state governorship election.

The Chairman of the Election Committee and Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, declared the lawmaker the winner on Saturday after he defeated three other aspirants in the exercise held in the state capital of Osogbo.

According to Channels , Senator Adeleke won by just 7 votes as he polled a total of 1,569 votes to beat his closest rival Dr Akin Ogunbiyi who had 1,562 votes. Governor Dickson also turned down request of the delegates to recount the ballot papers according to reports.

Having won the PDP ticket, Senator Adeleke would contend with Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as candidates of other political parties in the September 22 governorship election.
